by Medical Device Reporting (MDR) requirements of the Food Drug and Cosmetics
Act (FD&C Act) (21 USC 360i), and comes primarily from manufacturers,
user facilities, importers and voluntary reporters. Currently a majority of
these reports are entered manually by data entry contractors. The electronic
Medical Device Reporting (eMDR) Automation project provides the capability
for electronic data entry and processing of medical device adverse event
reports. The project utilizes Health Level Seven (HL7) Individual Case Safety
Report (ICSR) standard to receive medical device adverse events (MDRs). eMDR
utilizes the FDA Gateway, an agency-wide entry point for all electronic
submissions, to receive electronic MDRs. As part of this project submission of eMDR from JNJ to FDA was
automated by developing a solution and providing a dashboard as a single
point of access for all data being related and reporting system for delayed
response from FDA. Responsibilities:. ·

Johnson & Johnson having most of its integrations on 6.5 needed to be
attended with priority before slipping out the EOM Support. Having SAP as the
primary ERP and more that 300 Integrations connecting to SAP for all business
transactions were at impact due to the change in SAP adapter to ART Model.
This project was a factory model upgrading more than 500 Integrations across
JNJ involving more that 30 resources working from multiple geographical
locations. Expected result was to upgrade the integrations along with that
having new design guidelines implemented and redevelopment of all SAP Adapter

records from the shipment staging tables on EDW database and translate the
records to EDI defined Flat File format to be sent to EDI host. The flat file
format is a customized format in which the shipment records are sent. The
Webmethods Integration picks the records from the EDW DB and generates the
Flat File which is further used by the EDI Translator. CorpEDI translator
translates the Flat file generated by WebMethods and prepares the EDI
Document. This integration was implemented for the EDI Documents 858
(Shipment) and 250(Receipt). For Inbound the EDI Translator translates the EDI Documents and
generates the Flat Files. WebMethods integration picks the Flat Files from
the host then extracts the Records using corresponding Flat File schema and
Inserts the records into the EDW Database. For both Inbound and Outbound
Pub-Sub and FTP approaches are used for the transferring Data from one host
to another.
